BOKO HARAM members attacked by a LION.

I had the chance to speak to one of those BOKO HARAM members who recently surrendered and being held in the Army's custody, and he spoke to me in Hausa language(was translated in English), revealing why they are now giving up. See it after the cut ...

Interviewer: We heard that some BOKO HARAM members are giving up arms, and some are even surrendering to the ARMY. How true is that?

Muhammed Isah: It is very true that we are giving up, because we are being hunted in the bush by the spirit of those we killed and strange animals and insects.

Interviewer: strange animals and insects like?

Muhammed Isah: some of us died in the bush because, strange snakes and bees do attack us. We also lost 3 of our members to a LION.

Interviewer: you mean to tell me that LION attacked you people too?

Muhammed Isah: yes we were attacked recently by a LION, that's why some of us are now giving up, because we are tired, hungry and we don't know what else that will be attacking us.

Interviewer: So how and when did you join the group?

Muhammed Isah: I was force into the group by my father in October 2011.

Interviewer: So your Father forced you into the group, why?

Muhammed Isah: his friend's son was in the group, and was giving a lot of money to his father, so out of selfishness and greed, I join the group.

Interviewer: So why didn't your father report his friend?

Muhammed Isah: He feared he will be killed.

Interviewer: So how do you carry out your attack?

Muhammed Ish: we carry out our attack, in our respective area. I know all the short cuts and check points in my area, and I know how I can escape when am being chased, so we don't risk our lives going into an area we know nothing about.

Interviewer: That means people in your area knows the members of your group in their area?

Muhammed Isah: yes, some people know who the members of BOKO HARAM are in all the areas, but they are scared to talk. A father can not report that his neighbour's son is a member of BOKO HARAM, because his own son is a member too.

Interviewer: Any regrets and Advise?

Muhammed Isah: yes, I regret joining BOKO HARAM because I thought I was doing the right thing, not knowing that I am being deceived. I advise people to always stand by the truth and look out for deceivers.
